Simple Woman's Journal

For Today...March 2, 2009

Outside my window... still dark, 16 degrees, cold and windy

I am thinking... of a friend I went to high school with, who's funeral is today. I can't make it because of the six hour+ drive, but her memory is heavy on my mind today.

I am thankful for... my sweet husband. Abby and I were sick again over the weekend and he made us chicken noodle soup...from scratch!

From the kitchen... Quiet. The day hasn't really started yet.

I am wearing... pink striped pajamas

I am reading... I'm going to the library today. I just finished The Last Patriot

I am hoping... to get a call with GOOD NEWS

I am creating... a to-do list for spring cleaning (it's still winter, but if I clean, it will come! lol)

I am hearing... computer hum, heating stove sounds and overall quiet (everyone will be getting up in about 5-10 minutes)

Around the house... I'm about to start a load of laundry and breakfast. Today I'll be working on the front porch for my spring cleaning project.

One of my favorite things... is learning all about Walgreens. I'll post the plan I have today later when I show the results. I'm really bringing home some bargains. I can't believe I didn't shop there before this year!

A few plans for the rest of the week... I will post my to-do list tomorrow. But some of the highlights are spring cleaning projects, time change tasks, kitchen tasks and a large project of going through some storage boxes with photos and keepsakes.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...Just because I think it's cute...

What's the deal with Walgreen's? I never shop there, but have heard people say it's good. Looking forward to that post. :)

Love the owls! Have a grand week!

  3. Hi Sheri!

Thanks for commenting. I just love Peggy's blog don't you?

The deal with Walgreens. I am getting FREE stuff there almost every week. Today I got free shampoo, free hairspray, and two free air freshners. And right guard deodorant for .99 (not free but close!). I find those deals by clipping coupons, and then getting the Walgreens ad each Sunday and picking up (inside the store by the front door) the Easy Saver catalog. It's filled with even more coupons to use in Walgreens. You combine the Easy Saver/Walgreens coupons, with their sale items, and then add on regular manufacturer coupons from the paper...wala! freeeeeeeeee stuff!!

There are tons of blogs about it too. I always read from Wags to Riches, Deal Seeking Mom and others to be sure I'm not missing any of the great deals when I scour the ad myself. You should definately give it a try. And holler at me if you need help or want more resources. I'll be happy to talk to you about it.

    Thanks again for coming by!
